Guy
PUTET, M.D. is Professor of Paediatrics at
Université Claude
Bernard in Lyon and is a member of the Nutrition Committee of
the French Paediatric Society. At the Hôpital
de la Croix-Rousse in Lyon,
he heads a level–III 45-bed neonatal intensive
care unit which
receives around 900 neonates per year (around 160 of
very low birth
weight). About 100 neonates per year receive total
parenteral nutrition
(TPN).
He
has been working on the nutrition of very low birth weight
infants,
especially in the field of energy metabolism and nutrient balance
during enteral and parenteral nutrition, and of
neuro-sensory
development.
